Louis is an economist with a proven track record in social and economic development. Throughout an exceptional career within several Government of Quebec ministries, including that of the premier of Quebec for more than eight years, he acted as an advisor on major government projects, particularly related to regional development, the maritime sector, transportation, information technology and cultural affairs.

Through hard work, Louis demonstrated exemplary determination and the agility needed to find real solutions and develop public policies and strategic projects that have led to the creation of thousands of jobs. He is driven by a passion for social and economic development. He believes in government intervention and a progressive society and wants to serve the public with the knowledge and expertise he has acquired over a career spanning more than 30 years.

As the Liberal candidate for Charlesbourg—Haute-Saint-Charles, Louis will listen with sensitivity, attention and understanding to the real issues facing people and businesses, particularly with regard to the cost of living, business competitiveness, and the quality of government services to communities. His goal? To grow a fair and equitable economy that benefits everyone, minorities, the middle class, while protecting our environment, society and culture. Louis was born and raised in the Saint-Sacrement district of Quebec City and is very familiar with the important issues facing the region, including transportation, housing and poverty. He supports the importance of strong Liberal representation of the Quebec City region within the Canadian government, in order to influence decisions and defend issues in the Quebec City region.

He is married to Kathryn Sullivan and has two grown daughters and three grandchildren. The families of Charlesbourg—Haute-Saint-Charles will have access to someone they can trust to listen and understand. Louis will never stop working hard to provide a better future for families in the Charlesbourg—Haute-Saint-Charles riding, and to ensure that everyone has a fair and equitable chance to succeed. He will always stand up for the people of the riding.
